SatRev with new funding for the Satellite Constellation Project!

SatRev, a Wrocław-based technology company in the SpaceTech industry, has just completed the first tranche of funds in its ongoing development round. The Imperio ASI fund is investing in SatRev S.A., a Polish manufacturer of nano and microsatellites, thereby strengthening its market position. Additionally, the main shareholder also plans to increase its involvement. The acquired funds will be used for the development of the REC constellation project aimed at advanced high-resolution Earth imaging. This constellation of satellites, with a short revisit period, enables the provision of valuable information almost in real-time, which is increasingly significant, especially in the geopolitical, climatic, and defense contexts.

The company is one of two, maybe three, firms that have set a goal to improve real-time Earth observation. The demand for these services is growing rapidly, as evidenced by the dynamic development of NewSpace companies worldwide. Increased defense spending and conflict prevention efforts are strengthening the position of companies in the space sector. This growth vector is a driving force for SatRev, a company whose potential is increasing day by day.

From the beginning, our company has been focused on creating innovative and groundbreaking Earth observation products. Current geopolitical tensions, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and threats from conflicts in various territories—not only in Europe—have further increased the pressure and demand for our services. And this is just a small portion of the applications for satellite data, as the market has improved and expects us to deliver an even broader range of services. Our goal has always been the same: to create a high-resolution Earth observation constellation with near real-time imaging. Now is the right time and place to leverage our achievements and knowledge, emphasizes SatRev President, Grzegorz Zwoliński.

The company is already executing profitable projects, as evidenced by contracts for data delivery, comprehensive satellite design, production, and launch programs for government agencies in the Sultanate of Oman and Australia. Preparations are currently underway for more such contracts in other countries, including in Africa.

SatRev is developing two main pillars of its business. Our core business is Earth Observation Data, which includes high-resolution satellite images for entities involved in all critical decision-making areas, such as crisis management, climate change monitoring, environmental pollution, and satellite data with broad applications for sectors like military, insurance, and maritime. The second pillar, which is incredibly capital-intensive, involves investing in the construction of our own satellites, which are planned to form the REC constellation in the near future. Furthermore, we are not limiting ourselves to these applications. Our solutions also enable the launch of client payloads into orbit as part of our orbital transport service, known as the Hosted Payload Mission, explains Grzegorz Zwoliński.

In the near future, SatRev will launch an online service on its website, enabling the booking of payloads for space transport and their rapid deployment into Earth's orbit using our own satellites. Space transport will transcend the boundaries of science fiction. This is a real market expectation and a breakthrough that sets a new standard for delivering valuable information via intelligent devices sent into orbit. Research conducted by the company indicates a growing interest in this form of transport from companies, institutions, and nations, whose needs are significantly increasing with technological advancements utilizing space solutions.

"We observe the market and respond to changes. Our flexibility allows us to quickly adapt to shifting demand, and this is our advantage," explains Grzegorz Zwoliński.

The company has ambitious plans to build its own REC satellite constellation to become a leader in this segment. The endeavor is challenging but feasible and requires significant financial investment to meet the project's goals. The REC constellation, with a short 30-minute refresh rate, requires placing over a thousand satellites in the appropriate Earth orbit. The REC satellites are independent units consisting of deployable mirror segments that allow for high-resolution imaging. These images, enhanced with AI layers, can be offered to clients in sectors such as military, insurance, geodesy and cartography, precision agriculture and forestry, crisis management, inland waters, and property tax monitoring, among many others. Moreover, the frequent revisit rate—every 30 minutes—allows for nearly real-time image delivery.

The demand for such data is growing rapidly, which makes us very optimistic about our future in the market. Satellite technology requires exceptionally high financial and substantive commitment, but it is an investment that pays off, leading to extraordinary technological growth and the prospect of a relatively high return on investment.
